Hello! My name is Necole Zemp and I am the Literacy Coach at Henry Marsh, lll Elementary School. I love literacy! Reading and writing have the power to change worlds, as well as open up new worlds. With this love, I have spent my career fostering literacy skills in students of all abilities. As a Literacy Coach, I am dedicated to empowering educators and ensuring that students reach their full potential, regardless of their starting point. Whether working directly with students or collaborating with teachers, my focus is on achieving positive outcomes in literacy that will have a lasting impact on student achievement. Ultimately, I want to help all learners find the joy in reading.

India Holmes

Reading Interventionist

Ms. India Holmes is a passionate Reading Interventionist with seven years of teaching
experience in Richmond Public Schools. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary
Education from Virginia State University and holds a Virginia Teaching License. Ms. Holmes is a
strong phonics educator who uses UFLI and data-driven practices to design intentional lessons
that foster reading growth.


Throughout her career, Ms. Holmes has worked with students in kindergarten through second
grade, specializing in building foundational literacy skills through evidence-based strategies and
targeted interventions. She has extensive experience working with Title I students and is
committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning in order to become confident,
capable readers. Her approach combines diagnostic assessments with personalized instruction,
ensuring each student receives the support needed to thrive as a reader.


She is also an active contributor to professional development workshops, where she trains
educators on effective reading intervention techniques and the integration of technology in
literacy instruction. Her commitment to advancing literacy education is reflected in her
collaborative work with parents, teachers, and school administrators to create supportive
learning environments. Recognized for her passion and dedication, Ms. Holmes continues to
advocate for literacy as a fundamental component of student success, striving to inspire and
empower every child to reach their full potential.


Looking ahead to this school year, Ms. Holmes is dedicated to cultivating a love of reading,
building student confidence, and supporting a strong school-wide culture of literacy. She is also
committed to strengthening teacher capacity by modeling and supporting effective phonics
instruction, helping to build strong phonics educators across the school.
