The Maggie Walker Tennis Team is excited to host a free youth tennis camp at Byrd Park from July 21–24, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM. Open to ages 7–17, this camp is a great way for kids to learn and enjoy tennis in a fun, supportive environment. Equipment and snacks will be provided — just come in sneakers and bring a water bottle. Sign up today and join us on the court!
We are excited to celebrate our kindergarten students as they prepare to move on to first grade.The Kindergarten Moving-On Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. in the school cafetorium.Each student will receive four tickets for family members to attend this special event.
Don’t forget: Our Family Survey is open until Friday, May 30! Don’t miss this opportunity to help us improve how we serve our students and families. Please take a few moments to complete the survey for each child enrolled in RPS.

Ready to roll, RVA? Join Girls in Gear for Camp GiG, a free summer camp focused on gaining confidence alongside critical bike safety skills. Open to girls ages 11+ living in Richmond, these weeklong camps will blend biking, creativity, and hands-on learning in supportive and fun environments.
With summer just around the corner, water safety should be top of mind for every parent and caregiver. Join the YMCA for a free week of swim lessons, May 19-25. Held at 13 locations around RVA, these classes are open to anyone six months and up who hasn’t taken a swim class before.
